Use of the site

CountyAtlas is a free reference site. You may view, search, and use its maps, tools, and data for personal, educational, journalistic, and commercial purposes, subject to these terms and the licensing described in the disclaimer. You agree not to:

• use the site in any way that violates the law or infringes anyone’s rights;
• interfere with or disrupt the site or its servers, including via automated requests that place an unreasonable load, denial-of-service attempts, or attempts to bypass security or rate limits;
• misrepresent the data as official government output, or as endorsed by CountyAtlas when it isn’t.

Content, data & licensing

The underlying data is drawn from U.S. federal sources in the public domain and from Wikidata (CC0), and is not owned by CountyAtlas — you are free to reuse it, with attribution appreciated; see the data page and disclaimer for the full licensing note. The site’s own materials — its written explanations, page designs, code, rendered map images, and the arrangement of the whole — are the property of CountyAtlas and are protected by copyright. You may quote and link to the site with attribution; you may not copy the site wholesale or present it as your own.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The site and its data are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Data may contain errors, be out of date, or be unsuitable for legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions; read the full disclaimer before relying on any figure.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CountyAtlas and its operator will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or other damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or its data — including decisions made in reliance on it.

Third-party links

The site may link to other websites (for example, the source agencies). We don’t control third-party content or sites and aren’t responsible for them; your dealings with them are between you and them. CountyAtlas does not currently display advertising; if that changes, how it works will be described in the privacy policy.

Changes & governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the “last updated” date reflects the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of Slovenia, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
